November | A Month in Review

Well hello there, or should I say 'Ho, Ho, Ho?' We are well and truly into the festive season now, which is also known as my absolute favourite time of year. To all you Grinches out there I am sorry this time of year isn't so jolly for you.

The month of November, like most, absolutely flew past. I'm starting to think that's just how it's going to be from here-on-in.

Luckily, for myself and a few good friends, we started the month with a little getaway to Nelson Bay. It was four blissful days of lounging on the beach, playing games, drinking, eating and using copious amounts of sunscreen only to then be left with a burnt foot (yes ladies & gents, apply to your feet too).

Upon returning home we were all feeling a little bit down in the dumps, but with the knowledge that Christmas was nearing there was an excuse to put on Michael Bublé and buy loads of gifts online (for myself and others). So, whilst I've been in a online shopping hole - what have you been up to this month?

Bits & Bobs

dōTERRA Essential Oils

For a long time I had been seeing these oils pop up on Instagram and Facebook and earlier last month I was just like "what is the big deal here? I need to try these out!"

I reached out to Kelly, who I have followed for a while on Instagram, who just so happens to be a dōTERRA Wellness Advocate and she was more than happy to tell me a bit more about the oils and the process of getting some in my hands.

I have to be absolutely honest here, I had a lot of scepticism before trying these and can say that after a month of using these oils daily that my previous doubts are gone.

They come with a pretty big price tag, but I honestly wouldn't go anywhere else if you were after essential oils. They are sourced from the best ingredients, there are no nasties added and you can guarantee that all people involved in the process are being paid for their dues.

I could talk about these oils forever, so I actually plan on doing a separate blog post about the benefits, the dōTERRA brand and their uses soon. Keep your eyes peeled for that. 😉

Farmer Jo's Muesli & Nakula Coconut Yoghurt
Keeping with the theme of beneficial health and wellness products, I have been introduced to one of my favourite combinations ever; coconut yoghurt & muesli.

When it comes to breakfast, I am more of a caffeine and go sort of person. I barely eat solids and that is something I'm trying to change, as you should start your morning with more than a cup of Joe.

Coming across these two amazing brands has been a great way of introducing a bit of breakfast into my daily routine. I will admit that it will take some time to adjust to eating breakfast regularly, but this is definitely helping in that process 'cause it's pretty delicious.

ALSO, I feel like a food item is always going to somehow pop up into these monthly favourites - I lead a very riveting life obviously.

I've Been Binge Watching...

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (CAOS)

I had been eagerly waiting in anticipation for this show for a looong time. Anything dark, witchy and a little bit twisted is bound to get my attention, and this show definitely lives up to my expectations.

Loosely based on the original Archie comics, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, this show explores Sabrina's tug-o-war between the mortal and witch world. Being a half witch, half mortal - Sabrina is unlike most in her coven and this leads to some very interesting twists.

Also, thank you Netflix & CAOS team for naturally introducing a bisexual character, just like you would a heterosexual one. Oh and having a mixed race cast! This is progress & I'm living for it! ❤️💚💙💛💜

Where to watch: Netflix (oh and it's renewed for a second season - f*** yeah!)

The Sinner | Season 2

If you've been following along with my favourites for a while you will notice that I've spoken about this show before. The Sinner, across both seasons, follows Detective Harry Ambrose as he tries to uncover and explore the motives behind the unique murder cases he has been assigned to.

Unlike the first season, the second season follows a different murder investigation and no longer stars it's executive producer, Jessica Biel. However, this season still follows that twisted, eery and psychologically thrilling theme that made the first season a success.

The second season follows the case of Julian Walker - a young boy who has committed murder against his 'parents' for what there appears to be no motive for. You'll understand the quotation marks when you watch it.

If you haven't seen the first season, don't let that stop you from watching this one. That being said, I recommend you go check that one out too.

Where to Watch: Netflix (Season 1 & 2 available)

I've Been Listening To...

This month I still haven't quite gotten over the beauty that is the A Star is Born soundtrack, so that's still been on a constant replay this month. To be quite honest, I don't see that disappearing from my favourites ever. 💖

As for new music that I've been loving I think thank u, next needs a good mention. I mean... this song is the best god damn clap-back and bop I've seen this year and I think everyone is living for it. Plus, the video clip is just next level!

If you want to hear the rest of the bops I've been singing and dancing along to, you can check that out below...

PS: Look out for a blog post about my 2018 Music Round-Up - coming soon... 👌

What have been some of your favourites? x
