Back to my roots...

Now and then my family and I take a little* journey to a small country town known as Cowra. To many this place is unheard of, off the grid and the easiest way to describe where it is, is to mention Bathurst and how you just keep driving on from there.
* 5 or so hours 😉

However, to me, this little place is my home away from home.

I came into the world on a very hot summers day in a Cowra hospital room, which my Mum endlessly reminds me of whenever we past that old hospital building. Apparently a lot of blood, sweat and tears were experienced that day (sorry Mum). 😁

From that day on, that little town quickly became an important part of me and a place that I would come to learn would always remain home long after I left it.

So coming back is always such an amazing retreat, one that I thought I'd share a little part of with you. Proof that you can take the girl out of the country but you can't take the country out of the girl.

I recommend this gorgeous town to anyone. From the mixture of shops on the main street (Re'lish is a must), the Cowra Japanese Gardens, the historic P.O.W campsite (the history is really interesting) and the amazing food & wineries, this town truly is full of many little delights.

More importantly, the people are the nicest people you'll ever come across. Whether you come with a friend or not, you're more than likely to leave with one after your visit.

I can only hope you are able to one day make your way out there or to a town like it. There really is nothing better than just taking in the amazing view of green fields, breathing in the crisp fresh air and sharing some good laughs and food with great company.

Here's just a little snapshot ...
